Lentil Dosa | Mixed Dal Dosai from Tamil Nadu

Lentil Dosa

Lentil Dosa or Mixed Dal Dosai from Tamil Nadu is made only of lentils without Rice. So this almost instant Dosa is No Rice Dosa and is very healthy Diabetic food.

I made this with 3 different lentils and the batter came out so well. Since this doesn’t require fermentation, you can almost soak it in the morning and you will have ready to use batter for breakfast.

Since I just couldn’t find any dish starting with L, I had to resort to using L for Lentil. So lentil dosa is my choice for L in the AtoZ Flatbread and More, where I am doing AtoZ Dosa Varieties. If you want to know whats for L in the Indian Flatbreads, hop over!

  1. A Dosa without rice ? Wow ! That’s so interesting . We normally make a lot of moong daal Dosa’s , but this with three daals would be such a nice change and even healthier . Lentil is a great pick for L , though knowing you , you would have preferred a traditional name . :))

  2. I absolutely love this no rice lentil dosai…it looks so crisp and tasty and not to mention the protein richness of this dish! Awesome pick for L Valli!!

  3. So crispy and nutritious, no rice is definitely an interesting part. How protein rich this dosas will be na, i would like to have few dosas with some hot spicy chutneys.

  5. This is like adai without rice! Never heard of this before but will surely make it one of these days.Sometime, the plain old dosas do seem boring no matter how much we love it!
